Quran Leaders Waqf Bursary

A Statement of Purpose, Principles, and Governance

1. The Quran Leaders Waqf Bursary

Overview and Purpose

Inspired by the Islamic tradition of waqf and the legacy of charitable educational endowments, the Quran Leaders Waqf Bursary provides structured financial assistance to students of promise who face genuine barriers to accessing education.

The programme supports selected students through fully funded or partially assisted placements, prioritising families experiencing hardship, newly-settled communities, students with additional needs, and those demonstrating strong commitment despite difficult circumstances.

Support is awarded based on both need and merit, reflecting the Academy’s commitment to excellence, discipline, dignity, and long-term character development.

All applications are reviewed confidentially, rigorously, and at the Academy’s discretion.

Educational Philosophy

Quran Leaders Academy is founded on the principle that:

The Qur’an was not revealed merely to be memorised, but to shape principled, capable, and emotionally grounded leaders.

Our educational model integrates:

  • Academic excellence across SATs, Grammar School standards, GCSE, A-Level, and O-Level curricula
  • Qur’anic memorisation and precise recitation
  • Tajweed and linguistic mastery
  • Islamic manners and character development
  • Discipline, responsibility, and academic consistency
  • Advanced communication, critical thinking, and confidence
  • Leadership through service, integrity, and intellectual maturity

We seek students who demonstrate sincerity, effort, and respect for learning, regardless of background.
